Reactor period calculator: the inhour equation

The stable period is set by the delayed neutrons. A one-group approximation misses it badly — 2.3× too long at +$0.50 — so the app solves the six-group inhour equation.

The inhour equation (prompt lifetime neglected)

ρ / β = Σᵢ aᵢ / (1 + λᵢ·T) T = stable period
doubling time = T · ln 2

Period against reactivity (β = 0.0065)

After a large negative step the power settles to a −80.6 s period, set by the longest-lived precursor group (T½ = 55.9 s), however much reactivity was inserted.
